August 2021 Fundraising Campaign and Projects: join us

We are doing what we know. Helping how we can. You are invited to join in.

Join us in supporting the community of Ciudadela Sucre, a settlement on the southern outskirts of Bogota. We have started a fundraising campaign on GiveButter. Funds will go to the building of housing units with a water collector through our partnership with Techo. The rest of the funds will be distributed to the local community center of St. Benito Menni for education scholarships for individuals who the center has chosen based on merit. 

 

Through the essential and invaluable participation of our on-the-ground collaborator in Bogota, Theo, we have been able to keep in close contact with the community of Ciudadela Sucre throughout 2020 and 2021.

2020 Update:

Covid-19 Emergency Relief Actions 

At this very challenging time for all of us, we were so grateful to be able to act on behalf of our members, volunteers and donors to direct $14K in funds and efforts to the most urgent needs in the communities we have worked with. We partnered with Techo and St. Benito Menni to provide food packs for the neediest families in Ciudadela Sucre. We had also teamed up with World Vision Colombia for hygiene supplies and food packs. 

 

Ciudadela Sucre Community Park - Postponed 2022
The next build in Ciudadela Sucre, Colombia is delayed due to the global COVID-19 pandemic. 

 

Below are photos of the site selected for the park. We are currently working with our partners in Colombia to finalize a project plan and blueprints. We will post those here as soon we have an update.
