Sara Ruffin

Sara Ruffin is the Secretary of the Board of Directors of Building Trust Americas. Ms. Ruffin has a bachelor’s degree in Finance and minor in Mathematics from University of San Francisco where she graduated magna cum laude. She works as a credit risk analytics consultant at Wells Fargo Bank, a large US-based financial institution.

Ms. Ruffin has fifteen years of professional experience in credit risk, analytics, finance, and accounting. Her primary job responsibilities are systems-based and include building risk statistical based models, process improvement systems, and project management tools. Ms. Ruffin also spent over five years as a credit manager in international banking. She currently resides in Los Angeles.

Ms. Ruffin has a deep passion for Colombia. She lived in Bogota in 2012 working for a local micro-finance institution to improve their credit processes and systems. She has since returned to Colombia over ten times, including annual trips with Habitat for Humanity as a volunteer and team leader to build homes in Ciudadela Sucre. Ms. Ruffin is passionate about the power of community and uses her passion to fundraise and raise awareness. She is eager to return to Colombia with Building Trust America for years to come. Sara is fluent in Spanish.

Ms. Ruffin is expecting her first child in February 2020. In her spare time, she teaches yoga and enjoys traveling, learning, reading, snowboarding, and spending time with her husband and two French bulldogs.
